I must start by saying that I don't usually read Sci-Fi at all. I find it
too far-fetched and confusing. Ilike a good plot and something I
can latch on to in the first few pages. So I was very pleased that
in this book I was gripped by the first few pages and wanted to
know what was coming next. The characters developed along with the plot and I was so engrossed reading this on the plane that I nearly missed the
first free drinks trolley. Now that says
something.
I really enjoyed this book and can understand why there are a
few plot lines left hanging - I'm hoping all will be revealed in the
second book.
So, in summary, its Sci-Fi which is understandable and believable. Bring on the sequel and
Amazon had better advise me when it's published on Kindle.
I understand that this is the first book Paul has written and had
published. Good work.

As a fan of Asimov's Foundation Trilogy I was a bit hooked from
the start. As I started my life in Inverness and know Raigmore
Hospital and Skye I was intrigued to find how the juxtaposition of
a doctor from Inverness was going to fit within a tale about a
galactic empire. Now I know!
Read it and see. You will find it hard to put this book down.
I hope the next part is as good.
I suspect the author is doing a bit of an homage' to Isaac Asimov? Well done!

A cracking first
effort.

Excellently paced
reading. Well thought out, interlacing, story lines that mean it's not all blasting away in space. Three members of the
Imperial family fighting for their survival in very
different ways in very different locations. There's plenty of humanity in this book too, not just science.(Although there is more than enough of that too.) Very much
looking forward to
the next episode.
